“The major advantage of Savvy Touch is that all the products are natural, you can be sure that the horses and people will not react, especially with the finer skinned warm bloods and thoroughbreds if their skin will react to new products.
The durability of the containers is one of the best designs so far. Plastic containers don’t go the distance around horses.”
Best wishes & get the Savvy Touch feeling!

I ride and compete my horses ‘naturally’ - using bitless, side-pull bridles and keeping their hooves barefoot. I enjoy using Savvy Touch products as it offers a range of all natural products for horse and rider that are effective and safe. The products aren’t harmful and minimize the risk of reacting with sensitive skin on horses and people and the results are just amazing!. My main competition horse is a chestnut mare named Supermodel. She is an 11 year old thoroughbred and was purchased by her owner (Kate Hewlett) off the race track. After a lot of work using natural horsemanship methods, bitless and barefoot she is now 100% trustworthy and very relaxed. She and I compete in showjumping up to 1.35m and eventing up to novice horse trials. We have been in the Northland team for the NZPCA Pony Club Eventing Champs (’06 as reserve, ’07 as riding member), we have been to North Island Pony Club Show Jumping Champs ’07 and ’08 both times the team winning the competition overall and we have also been in the Northland area team, for the NZPCA Showjumping Champs 08 held at HOY. I really recommend you give natural style riding and the Savvy Touch range a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I love all the Savvy Touch products especially the Savvy Touch 2N1 Shampoo & Shine Conditioner it’s amazing as it works incredibly on all my boys no matter what colour, the softness & shine is really incredible. My absolute favourite is the Savvy Touch Hoof Paste. I have used many different brands of hoof oils and pastes in the past and none I have found to last the distance, often wearing off before even getting into the ring. Savvy Touch Hoof Paste is super easy to apply and absorbs into the hoof whilst still holding its super shine. Lasts well on even the driest of arenas and muddiest cross-country's. My essential grooming kit item! I am lucky to have Steve work on my boys & he uses the Savvy Touch Ligament & Tendon Cooling Gel when massaging & I have seen “hot areas” literally disappear within minutes of it being applied!

After being very impressed with Steve’s obvious passion for facilitating both physical and mental wellbeing in horses, and dedication to producing the best possible products to assist this, I asked him to start working on my two top horses, Groove Armada and Duncan. The almost immediate change manifest in both was genuinely amazing, particularly in Billy (Groove Armada).

I have had Billy for four years, and he is notoriously stiff and therefore extremely tricky to ride on the flat. Although he has an incredible nature and ability, he sometimes struggles with enthusiasm for his work. Because of this, my team is constantly seeking ways to refine his training program etc, and (along with some other changes we have made this season) Steve’s product and physio have now become a fundamental part of Billy’s preparation.

Due to the excessive tightness and sensitivity in his body, in his first session he would scarcely let Steve touch most of his body and his demeanour became quite negative, even aggressive, which is extremely unlike him. As Steve has worked on him more regularly, his whole attitude towards the treatments has changed to the point where he now fully trusts Steve’s work on him and loves the massages – he even does his neck stretches by himself in his box afterwards! The change is also marked in his ridden work: because he now finds both lateral and longitudinal suppleness much easier to achieve on the flat, his whole attitude and work-ethic during schooling has changed – even out hacking he is much more interested his surroundings.

At the end of the 08 season, Billy successfully made the step up to Advanced level with a placing at Arran Station and was subsequently selected onto the (winning) North Island Silver Spurs team. Duncan, after an interrupted season, won both the Young Rider Novice Class at Arran Station and then the Non-Championship CCI* at Taupo. Steve played an elemental role in achieving each of these results.

I am hugely excited about continuing to work with Steve next season, and the results I believe he can help us achieve. I fully recommend acquiring Steve’s help for horses of any level – he really does have The Touch.
